Pelican Rock, Week 5 Winners, and More

Hey everyone, SD here. First things first: Escape from Pelican Rock Island is going to be out for everyone on December 30th!

Pets & Hover-boards… But First, Lemme Take a Spooky Selfie

Hey guys, SD here! Remember how some spooky new features were added to the Poptropica Photo Booth? Well it looks like there’s more to it!

Yes, Poptropica is having a Halloween Photo Booth Challenge and anyone can enter! Just create any spooky picture in the photo booth. As you can see in the image above, there are 5 categories that you have a chance of winning.

  • Best Halloween Party
  • Scariest Photo
  • Funniest Photo
  • Most Creative Photo
  • Best Costume

There will be one winner and five runner-ups for each category. All of the winners/runner-ups will be featured on social media, while the main winners will be temporarily added to the photo booth. That means anyone will get to use the winners’ Poptropicans in their pictures AND their winning photos will be featured as templates.

Once you’ve made your perfect picture, just hit the “Submit Your Photo to the Halloween Photo Booth Challenge” button. Remember, the contest lasts from October 23-28, so don’t miss out!

In other news, there is a new Pets Package available in the Poptropica app! For only $0.99 you can have your very own pet! And don’t forget that you can import your online Poptropican’s look into the app. 😉

Lastly, if my calculations are correct #BacktotheFutureDay was this past Wednesday. Of course Poptropica had to celebrate, so they shared the image above. Woah… I guess the future… is now that past… that’s kinda weird. o_O So, um, why don’t we have hover-boards yet…? XD

Fantastic Photos, Awesome App Updates, and Cool Cartoons!

Hey guys, Spotted Dragon here! Lots of updates to cover today. But first… lemme take a selfie.

The Creators just added a cool new feature to the game, specifically on Home Island. What is this great new feature you ask? A photo booth! Upon visiting the island, you can find the photo booth next to the Shop. Thanks to Ultimate iPad Expert for the all the pictures!

Once inside, you will be greeted by a panel of buttons on the left of your screen. They are all labeled in the picture below.

The best part about the photo booth is that you can change the entire scene all on your own, including the characters, props, backgrounds, and more! You can either start from scratch, or edit a pre-made template.

And don’t worry… the photo booth is available for everyone! So what are you waiting for? Go to Poptropica now to try it out for yourself.

Photo Booth - Mixtape

Yeah, this is me showing off my mixtape (which is on fire btw). I don’t know about you guys, but I really liked this update. However it’s still new, so I hope more tools get added. Like adding your friends to the picture, maybe an undo button, a way to add unique text, etc.

In other news, the Poptropica app got updated once again! It has every island up to Arabian Nights episode 3 and Hub Island now looks more like the online version. There are also more costume packs available in the Shop! Greek Gods, Heroes of the Ages, and Pets. Note that there are in app purchases and each pack costs 99 cents.

There have been more videos uploaded to the Poptropica YouTube channel as well, along with an announcement of a new series called Poptropica TV (according to a Creator’s post) that will be featured on the app. Anyway, the first new video is Shark Toon:

This seems to be a weekly thing, judging by the “tuna in next week” message at the end, but it could just be a fun short the Creators put together. Anyway, the other video is called Drawn to Life and features Gamer Guy:

While the first video was kinda funny, I found this one to be kind of long. Sadly, we don’t have a ton of other info on the videos. 😛

Tablet/Phone Promo & Members Only Islands

Okay… so I got some bad news guys. Remember the whole Nabooti demo thing? Well, more islands have joined the members only club.

There may be over 40 islands, but now 7 of those islands are exclusive for members. Those islands include:

Non-members can still play a demo of each island, but nothing beyond that.

Yes, what we have feared is true. I just hope Poptropica won’t become completely membership oriented. 😦

Poptropica on Android, Twitter Posts and Island Sneek Peeks

Hey guys! Finally managed to make a post today. XD So I went on Twitter a few minutes ago, and this is what I saw:

Woohoo! The Poptropica App is finally available for Android! Bet all you Android users are probably dancing in your chair right now. 😛 You can buy it on the Google Play store now.

There have also been two more “island sneek peeks” that Poptropica has posted on Twitter. Here they are:

Could there be a Galactic Hot Dogs Island and an island based off the Poptropica comic? I see some self advertising creators… 😛 They’ve also shared the 6th PopStorm, and a cute sketch of the Cryptids Island creatures.

Nice art! Wait, there’s more! Poptropica recently tweeted a reel with assortments of different videos that animator/ video maker, Tyson Burnham, has created! Check it out!

Now we all probably know that Shrink Ray Island is being updated, but somebody on Twitter asked what the next island will be, and they said that they might release Shrink Ray this Thursday!

Although it might not be ready, they’ll probably release it next week.
