A New Year, 2014 Review, & More

Hey guys! So, I found something interesting that WordPress emailed me. It’s a stat report for the blog, and it really made me grateful for all of you guys reading this, commenting, making posts, and everything. Basically, it shows all the statistics of the blog, such as the amount of photos added, number of hits, where hits were from, etc. All of you, thank you. This would not be possible without you! Here’s something the report says:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 60,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 22 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

I know this year hasn’t been the most active, or released as much as planned. My New Year’s Resolution is to change that. In 2015, we’ll release more, we’ll get that author we mentioned awhile ago, and I’m even working on an updated newspaper. 😉 Plus, that long-lost 10 TFP that has never been finished…it will be.

The will probably be changing for every season, or even be a collage of all the islands being released at the moment! New Updates – Please Read!

Hey guys! Most of you have probably noticed the new background to add spookiness for Monster Carnival, but did you notice the text in the header? “We’ll be your light in the dark with all the Poptropica tips you need!” You’ve probably noticed that the authors change in the header according to authors leaving or joining. The background is an old Monster Carnival sneak peek with some editing to make it original. If you have another background that may “flow” better, please send it to the PTFP email through the contact form at the bottom. Remember an email to send a message is NOT required. 🙂

Not only is it time for a new background, but it’s also time for the PTFP paper, Poptropica At A Glance! To send in your article (any article related to Poptropica), just send a message through the contact form! Along with a newspaper, there’s also the 10 TFP! I’ve been quite busy with my school Science Fair, but now it’s over, it’s time to get back to work. There may also be some other surprises this month (which means most likely)! Now, let’s see what we’ve got…10 TFP, newspaper, new header, new background, and some surprises. One more thing…time for Author Extraordinaire, Poptropica Explorer, and Ultimate Poptropican! I know, I know. There haven’t been many Snapshots. That’s why we’re combining January AND February together for the Poptropica Explorer (and there will be more snapshots to come). Send your votes by February 15th at 11:59 PM PST through the contact form at the bottom. Recap time!

Surprises and Updates!

The first update is the Snapshot Champion of the Months, September and October! The champion is…..Nameless UnDEFiNed!

Why? She helped bring Snapshots back by updating constantly (almost too much 😆 ) and trying to guess the Snapshots she didn’t put up. Congrats, Nameless!

If you want to become Snapshot Champion of the Month, guess often, and for every 10 correct guesses, you can send your own Snapshot to the PTFP email! Make the subject, “Snapshot Entry – SW Only,” and put the answer to the Snapshot in the body, along with the picture.

The second update is the disappearance of the Halloween theme and header. 😦 Halloween is now over, but I hope you enjoy your candy! The header will change, and the background might change, also, so look out for changes in the appearance!

The third update is about the PTFP activity. C’mon guys (and gals)! Start commenting and being active. Comment on the “Off-Topica” page to talk about anything, comment on new posts, etc. Warning: Samwow5, Slippery Icicle, Fearless Owl, and Tough Spider, please post within 5 days and be more active. It can be about anything related to Poptropica! It can be something funny you found, a theory, a glitch, a story, etc. Also, we lost Perfect Dolphin and Shy Singer several weeks ago (they’re not dead, just to make that clear). HPuterpop will be a new addition to the PTFP, though, so be happy about that! I think he will be a great addition to the team.

The fourth update is that ALL the islands will have guides soon! Thanks to the PHB, which makes this possible. :mrgreen:

10 TFP is Released! Wait, What?

A viewer gave me a great idea: do the TFP’s out of order! Surprise!! The 10 TFP is…Author and Poptropican of the Month! Thanks, SD, for inspiring me to do this!

Spotted Dragon made an amazing magazine based on bullying, and October is Bully Awareness Month, which makes the magazine perfect. She also inspired this TFP. Congrats, SD!

Now, for the final update, the Snapshot Champion of the Month, Poptropican of the Month, and Author of the Month will be up to you! There will be a poll for every month for all three categories. Just don’t vote for yourself! If the person you want to vote for isn’t on the poll, send an email to the PTFP email and we will count your vote! The Snapshot champion of the month is – wow, this is hard! Hmm… It is…. Spotted Dragon! Congrats!

Spotted Dragon is the Snapshot champion because not only has she guessed 21 Snapshots, she has also constantly shown good sportsmanship and she even did some Snapshots when I was gone! Good job, Spotted Dragon. :mrgreen:

Snapshot Stuff!

New additions to the Snapshot are…..

  • Hall of Fame page – Inspired from Magic Star. (I bet you didn’t think it would be in the TFP!)
  • Every 10th correct guess sends in their own Snapshot – Inspired from SD and TS. (Same as above!)
  • Snapshot Champion of the Month – Inspired from SD. (Again, same as above!)

Now you know why I haven’t updated the Snapshot yet. The Hall of Fame page and Snapshot Champion of the Month are going to be on the same page, but the Snapshot Winner of the Month will be posted as well. The Hall of Fame page AKA High Scores page will feature the highest number of guesses people guessed correctly from the highest guessing person to the 5th highest guessing person. Here is an example: Strange Cat guessed ** number of Snapshots correct, so he is number 1! Spotted Dragon guessed ** number of Snapshots correct, so she is number 2! The Snapshot Champion of the Month is based on the number of Snapshots the person has guessed, good sportsmanship to the people who didn’t get it, and how fast they got the answer/how many times it took them to get the answer. The champion will be announced every month, and people may be the champion more than once.  Awesome right? Every 10th Snapshot someone guesses correctly will get to send in their Snapshot to the official PTFP email! Make sure to make the subject “Snapshot Suggestion,” and that authors/editors/admin cannot look at the Snapshot. Take a picture of an island item, and then, in the text box, put “Snapshot 10th correct picture. The island is……………………………………………………………………………………………….(Insert Island here:)______. ”  Sorry, authors! It’s just that all of you guess the most, so I don’t want to ruin it for you! If you’re confused, tell me in the comments, and I will try to clear the confusion. By the way, the Snapshot Hall of Fame/Snapshot Champion will be updated the last day of every month. That means the pages will be released June 30th! Make sure to guess announcement 2! The sneak peek will come soon!
